Public HealthFlu and Pneumonia Shots
People at High Risk for Complications from InfluenzaIn an effort to vaccinate high-risk individuals, Lincoln County Health and Human Services (LCHHS), in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, have identified medical conditions and factors that place you at high-risk of developing complications from the flu. In general, anyone who is six months of age and older can get vaccinated. Anyone that wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu can get vaccinated. However, certain people should get vaccinated each year. They are either people who are at high risk of having serious flu complications or people who live with or care for those at high risk for serious complications. A yearly flu shot is recommended for the following groups of people who are at increased risk for serious complications from the flu:
