Services:

A nutrition education and supplemental food program for:

* Pregnant women
* Breastfeeding women
* Non-Breastfeeding women with infants under 6 months of age
* Infants and children under 5 years of age

Mothers, fathers, guardians or foster parents are welcome to apply for their children.

Benefits:

WIC screens children for dietary concerns, iron deficiency and growth concerns.

Monthly health fairs, breastfeeding classes and support groups.

Vouchers for nutritious foods:

* milk * fruit juice
* cheese * peanut butter
* eggs * cereal
* dried beans/peas * infant formula

May provide breast pumps.

May provide diet counseling with registered dietitian.

Requirements:

Must be an Oregon resident, income eligible and have a nutritional need.

If you currently receive TANF, Food Stamps or the Oregon Health Plan, you are automatically income eligible.

Health fairs include a variety of topics, self-paced learning, and food sampling.  Generally offered in Lincoln City the 3rd Tuesday of each month and in Newport the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Introduction to breastfeeding is sponsored by WIC and open to the community for pregnant women, new moms and their support people. Generally offered in Lincoln City the 1st Thursday of each month and in Newport the 1st, Friday of each month, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Breastfeeding support groups are sponsored by WIC and open to the community for pregnant women, new moms and their support people. Support groups are ongoing and registration is not required. Offered in Lincoln City at 12:00 p.m. following the introduction to breastfeeding class (1st Thursday of the month). Offered in Newport every Friday at 12:00 p.m.
