Maternity Case Management promotes positive pregnancy outcomes through education and support during pregnancy. Visits are provided in the expectant mother's home by public health nurses. Other interventions include telephone contacts, educational services, information and appropriate referrals.

Educational services include:

	the physical and emotional changes to the mother's body and life
	premature labor
	the birthing process
	care of the newborn
	breastfeeding
	smoking cessation
