Summary of Coalition

The Diabetes Coalition consists of a group of individuals who have an interest in diabetes. The overall goal of the Coalition is to reduce the burden of diabetes in Lincoln County.

The coalition is striving to work towards the following objectives:

* Identify undiagnosed persons with diabetes

* Provide awareness that diabetes is a serious condition

* Promote the importance of self-management and treatment

* Increase public awareness that diabetes can be controlled and sometimes prevented.

* Increase awareness of available resources and services in Lincoln County for people affected by diabetes.
* Establish partnerships with various organizations to promote prevention, early detection and care of diagnosed diabetes cases.

The coalition is unavailable to provide direct services. The coalition meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 3 - 5 p.m., Location varies. Please contact Heather LaMonte for the next meeting location 574-4682.
